Newsletter Message from the Principal Recognition Week Nov 2-6 We are very fortunate to have a dedicated group of people working in administration and support roles in our school. Mrs Mitchell, Mrs Wheeler and Mrs Rennger keep the office running smoothly as well as offering help and support to parents, teachers and students. Mr McNevin does a wonderful job keeping our school environment up to a high standard for us to learn and play. Our team of learning support officers Mrs Parkinson, Mrs McGregor, Mrs Murphy, Mrs Anturkar and Mrs Miranda offer ongoing classroom and playground support for our children with special needs. We all say a big thank you! Nationals for Athletics Jayden Ripinskis competed at the State Level for athletics and has now made it to the Nationals for 100m and only just missed out in 200m. We are very proud of his achievements. We are selling raffle tickets each day to help with the cost of going to the national athletic event. If you would like to buy a ticket they are $2 each and there are great prizes of a laptop, colour television and three ipods. Swimming Well done to all the students who participated in swimming scheme. All children improved their skills. Thank you to Mrs Falconer for outstanding organisation and the teachers who accompanied the children to the pool. Group Photos Group and sport photos were taken last Monday. If you wish to order a photos please return the envelope with payment to the office by 18th November. IF you have 6 or more photos to purchase for your family there is a discount rate of $10 each. Shoes with wheels, telephones and scooters Shoes with wheels are not allowed at school for safety reasons. Anyone riding a scooter to school must wear a helmet and lock their scooter safely. If students ride a scooter in the school grounds or do not have a helmet then they will not be allowed to have a scooter at school. Our school policy on telephones is if your child needs to bring a mobile phone to school it must be switched off during the school day. Any calls that need to be made are done through the school office. If students switch phones on during the day there will be consequences in accordance with our discipline policy. Kindergarten Orientation We had a wonderful morning last Friday meeting our new Kinders for 2010 and their parents. They will continue their transition to school on Friday 6th and 13th November Theft Last Thursday afternoon at approximately 3pm just after the bell Ms Simpson had her wallet and phone stolen from on her desk just inside 5/6 Mensa classroom. The phone is a black Nokia N 97. If anyone knows any information about this theft please see me. This has made us very sad as we value honesty in our school.
